Ask me anything

THINGS WONG KAR-WAI TAUGHT ME ABOUT LOVE

1. Requited love is an impossibility. You will fall in love only once. Obstacles will prevail. The rest of your life is spent recovering.

2. Anything that distracts you from the pain of your loss is good. Some people are more successful in this regard than others.

3. Eroticising their objects will be the pinnacle of your sexual fulfillment.

4. Desire is kept eternally alive by the impossibility of contact.

5. The most potent way to exist is to occupy someone else’s imagination.

6. Technology will only heighten your sense of desolation making you more keenly aware that no one is trying to call.

7. Hook up with someone. Live with them. Sleep with them. Tag along. Don’t be fooled. You are only a transitory distraction. Ask for commitment. Declare your love. Watch the set up evaporate.

8. Some coincidences are deliberate.

The crush <3

You saw that person from your friend’s page, you thought that person is cute. you want them. you like that person a lot, you stare at their pictures for half an hour and admiring them. That person is what you want, you aspire to be with that person, spend your precious time together. it was just a wishful thinking. you don’t know anything about this person except you have 15 mutual friends in common and that person is totally your type. You’re too afraid to act, you wait. You find yourself in a club with your friends, and that person was there. that person doesn’t know you, you don’t know that person except their name. you saw that person from a far, hoping that person will be near you so you can stare at that person all night. that person was dancing with somebody, you kept figuring out whether there was a slight chance if you smile and that person would smile back and stroked a conversation. that person was dancing 6 feet away from you. your heart beats faster. you wanted to give that person a smile but they went away again. your friend told you to call it a night. you saw that person one last time, and cross your fingers that it wouldn’t be the last time to see that person again. you went back home. you were thinking about that person the whole night, you had a dream about that person. Now, you are writing this post just to pour out exactly how you feel. you have a crush on someone, hoping you would meet that person and grew something out of it.

I don’t know if you noticed anything different
It’s getting dark and it’s getting cold and the nights are getting long
I don’t know if you even noticed at all
That I’m long gone baby, I’m long gone

And the things that keep us apart keep me alive and
The things that keep me alive keep me alone

Designers need to speak the languages of business and engineering

AIGA - It’s up to designers to learn the vocabularies needed to communicate the value of design to business managers and executives. Designers must earn their spot in the boardroom. (via gregmelander)

Trust me, it’s paradise. This is where the hungry come to feed. For mine is a generation that circles the globe and searches for something we haven’t tried before. So never refuse an invitation, never resist the unfamiliar, never fail to be polite and never outstay the welcome. Just keep your mind open and suck in the experience. And if it hurts, you know what? It’s probably worth it.
